Problem:  You want to enable high speed dma access on your ide hard drive(s)

Solution:  Enable hdparm in the SME5 configuration by following the steps below:

[root@sme5 /root]# /sbin/e-smith/config setprop hdparm status enabled
[root@sme5 /root]# reboot

STEP 2: Verify hdparm using_dma has been activated

[root@sme5 /root]# hdparm -d /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
using_dma = 1 (on)
