This user's guide walks you step-by-step through the straightforward process of installing and configuring your SME Server. The Appendices in the back of the guide provide background information on subjects related to networking and the Internet and are intended to supplement chapters in the main section of the user's guide.

We created this user's guide using Docbook on the Linux operating system. Images were created using The GIMP.

The HTML version of this manual was generated from DocBook XML using libxslt with customized XSLT stylesheets. More information about our documentation process is available at http://www.e-smith.org/docs/ most of the editing was done by Dan York and Kirrily "Skud" Robert using the vim editor.
